Bio

Dr. Uma Rajarathnam is a Clean Energy Specialist with three decades of experience in renewable energy, Clean air, climate research, energy efficiency and sustainable development. She is leading the energy transition advisory at Enzen Group.

She provides the holistic view of energy transition with trans-disciplinary and cross cultural approach to balance environmental, economic and social dimensions using hands-on experience. Uma is well known for deep domain knowledge in the area of clean energy, environment and sustainability. She develops and fosters partnerships with fellow innovators in the net zero space to achieve sustainable development and business growth.

As the Head of Energy transition advisory, Uma brings deep technical knowledge and rich field experience and international exposure. She has worked in the United Nations organisation and contributes to evidence based policy making process to accelerate the growth with net zero emission. She possess strong business acumen and market intelligence.

She established the Clean Energy and Environment business unit at Enzen and delivered many prestigious projects in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energy, clean air and climate change. She is a thought leader and has published several research papers and articles, and shared her knowledge and views at various international conferences and seminars.

Uma is passionate about maximising clean energy, solve energy and environmental issues

Uma draws inspiration and motivation from her sons and loving husband. In her free time, Uma enjoys cooking, listening to music and gardening.

Previously, Uma worked as a clean air and energy specialist at the Energy and Resources Institute. She also worked with the World Health Organisation-South East Asia Regional Office as Regional Adviser for Air Quality, Environment and Chemical Safety.

Uma holds a masters degree in Environmental sciences and PhD from IIT Delhi in Energy and environment studies. She is also alumni of Stanford Graduate School of Business, USA and Said Business School, Oxford
