A global business leader with more than 25 years of experience in emerging technologies, Rob has a proven ability to translate vision, strategy, technology and innovation into existing and new commercial revenue streams across a range of industries, including energy, utilities, telecommunications and defence.
Rob is CEO and co-founder of National Narrowband Network Communications (NNNCo), which is Australia's leading IoT operator and network provider.
He’s an IoT innovator and inventor in the area of Machine-to-Machine (M2M) sensing, communications, wide area networking and enterprise software. He’s successfully leveraged entrepreneurial skills as a leader in Australian and Silicon Valley start-ups, delivered university-based commercialisation as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Sydney University and worked for large global corporates including General Electric and Thales Group.
Rob was President of Gridsense in USA and drove the company’s M2M monitoring and control solutions into the utility sector on the back of a public listing. As Asia smart grid leader for General Electric, he was responsible for its range of enterprise software, hardware and services solutions. He was then EVP of Grid Net/Atheros, a Silicon Valley M2M enterprise networking software start-up funded by GE, Cisco and Intel Capital.
Graduating with a Bachelor’s degree of Electrical Engineering specialising in Instrumentation and Control, he completed the Stanford Business School Live-In Executive Programme and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He also represents the LoRa Alliance as a Global Ambassador.
