Customer Challenge

When faced with escalating electricity prices, a large Australian company specialising in saw milling, timber manufacturing and land and property development engaged Enzen as its energy management partner.

A diverse and multi-faceted organisation, the customer’s operations include mills, home construction projects and retirement developments from Cairns to Sydney, and a client base across Australia and Asia.

Enzen’s challenge was to increase the company’s energy efficiency and productivity, while reducing its annual energy spend, carbon footprint and network infrastructure costs.

Our Solution

Drawing on its deep domain expertise in energy efficiency, Enzen’s knowledge practitioners developed a high-level four-year energy strategy for the customer which is currently ongoing. This has so far included load profiling, tariff audits, solar and bio-energy assessments, solar installations and management and advisory services.

The overall objective of Enzen’s solution is to deliver significant, quantifiable value for the customer and help it achieve ambitious carbon and cost reduction targets. By taking an end-to-end approach to energy management, Enzen is providing a holistic energy advisory solution that’s already strengthening the customer’s operations and facilitating its further growth.

Outcomes delivered

As a result of the collaboration, Enzen has so far delivered annual electricity cost reductions of 23%, carbon emission reductions of 20% and is on track to deliver a total energy cost saving of 30% by July 2020.
