Our innovative blueprint for a Smart Local Energy System (SLES) has been nominated in the Net Zero category at the 2023 UK Energy Awards.
We've been recognised for our contribution to the West Midlands Regional Energy System Operator (RESO) in Coventry.
The first project in the UK to explore an SLES at a city-scale, RESO was an evidence-based whole systems analysis, which explored how to integrate local low carbon energy generation, storage management and future mobility assets.
Conceived, planned and executed by West Midlands organisations, this cross-sector collaboration saw Enzen oversee overall programme management, infrastructure design and finance and investment, working alongside West Midlands Combined Authority, Coventry City Council, Birmingham University and the University of Warwick among others.
